A 501(C)3 non-profit horse rescue committed to circumventing the horse-slaughter pipeline.
Rescue. Rehabilitate. Rehome. Repeat
The mission of the Annie Project is to give dude and guest ranches a new option for retiring their horses. The goal is to keep retired horses safe from auction and out of danger of entering the slaughter pipeline.
The Dumb Friends League Harmony Equine Center™ is a private rehabilitation and adoption facility for abused and neglected horses, ponies, donkeys and mules that have been removed from their owners by law enforcement authorities. The Harmony Equine Center also serves as a central hub where horses from humane societies and rescue groups can receive training and rehoming. Since Harmony opened in 2012, more than 2,030 horses have been helped.
“The essential joy of being with horses is that it brings us in contact with the rare elements of grace, beauty, spirit, and freedom.”
